The new Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS™) have been released by the Institute of Internal Auditors and these represent the most significant change the profession has seen in more than a decade. The scope of changes is broad and touch all the activities of an internal audit department, but one common thread that runs through the new standards is the emphasis on the use of technology by Internal Auditors to help them work more efficiently and effectively.
